Just got to hype this amazing event being put on in Detroit by my friends at Now In Stereo. If you’re town don’t miss the heat, especially 6th Borough Project feat. Craig Smith, Eddie C. and the man like Aaron Dae! X
Last year’s Now In Stereo event featuring an exclusive DJ set by Lovebirds (Freerange, Teardrop / Germany) was nothing short of amazing and there’s quite a bit of buzz stirring regarding this year’s festivities since they are hosting both Saturday May 28th & Sunday May 29th at Exodus Lounge this year.
The Now In Stereo team is back at it again on Sunday with an exclusive appearance by an artist who very rarely comes stateside! 6th Borough Project feat. Craig Smith (Instruments of Rapture, Delusions of Grandeur / Scotland) makes his Detroit debut as part of the official “One Night in the Borough” Album Tour. The album, which appears on Jimpster’s Freerange sub-imprint: Delusions of Grandeur, was produced by both Craig Smith & The Revenge as 6th Borough Project and is slotted for release on May 9th, 2011. Also headlining the roster for Sunday May 29th is Eddie C (Sleazy Beats, Jisco Music / Canada) who, for the past two years, has been making some heavy noise on all the right labels. Event co-founder and recent NYC re-transplant Aaron Dae rounds things out for the open-air rooftop deck area. Inside, expect plenty of Disco, Boogie, Funk & Soul, and Classic 90s jams throughout the night courtesy of Boogie Libre, Tim Zawada, + More.
On Saturday, the Now In Stereo team is proud to feature a legendary artist that really needs no introduction: Ron Trent (Prescription, City Beat / Chicago). With one of the most influential deep house labels under his belt and a prolific career stretching back to the 80’s, it’s safe to say that Ron Trent will set the Now In Stereo stage ablaze! As if that weren’t enough, the multifaceted Lars Behrenroth (Deeper Shades of House / LA) bolsters the bill and Chi- cago’s own Mi Casa maestro Julius The Mad Thinker (3 Degrees Global, Aid to the Soulless) completes the trifecta out on the open-air rooftop deck area. Inside, Detroit’s Disfresh crew showcases a selection of homegrown talent culminating with Steven Sacks taking partygoers back to those Detroit warehouse rave days.
